MOD Families
MOD support through the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust
With a long history of supporting our military families, we are once again delighted to announce that we have been successful in a bid for funding which supports MOD pupils (where there is a current serving parent/carer), both in primary and secondary education.
MOD pupils can face unique challenges and should have the same entitlement as other pupil groups to receive support / intervention to help them face those challenges. This project aims to identify the needs of our service children and address bespoke needs. Targeted across both primary and secondary school education, the project will enhance readiness for learning, and close gaps in attainment where they exist.
This project aims to address the needs of our MOD pupils in all the primary schools which fall within our catchment area by supporting them in building skills, mental resilience, and confidence. These ‘core’ areas have been identified as they will help to support self-esteem and prepare MOD pupils’ ‘readiness to learn’ and aid then in reaching academic targets as they progress in their learning journey.
At Llantwit Major School, our allocated MOD LSA is Mrs Liane Mawson. She has already been in contact with any MOD pupils and parents that we are currently aware of.
However, if you have not been contacted and you believe your child is eligible for support, please let us know by emailing her directly: MawsonL@llantwitschool.org.uk
