Welcome to the Textile Croeso i Tecstiliau

All pupils at Key Stage 3 study Design Technology and this comprises a series of lessons in Product Design Textiles and Food Studies. Each year pupils design and manufacture one textile project as part of a carousel. The aim of the department is to foster a love of design, art sewing and making.

At Key Stage 4 we offer an Art based Textile course which enables pupils to further explore working with a range of materials, processes and techniques to design and make products based on their own interest allowing them to fulfil their potential.

Similarly, Sixth Form pupils have the opportunity of studying AS and A level Art Textiles and are able to explore their studies at a higher level. The emphasis at AS and A level is on personal growth as an artist or designer. Pupils are encouraged to work more independently, producing research and developmental studies that communicate their own artistic vision. The course prepares pupils for further education in any of the art/design based subjects.
